Default Front subframe question

Hi,

As I'm moving into the repair of the front suspension after my little incident on the Capitol Beltway, we have found the front subframe is bent on the drivers side. This is a 1992 model, VIN SAJNW4847NC184248.

I have purchased a 1991 coupe, VIN SAJTW5844MC176393 to use as a source of panels, wheels and bumpers.

My question: would the front subframe from the 1991 fit my 1992? I cannot find an online parts reference to verify this.

Cheers

Yes, it definitely will. Great opportunity to rebuild the front suspension! Only genuine Metalastic bushes mind! Good luck with the project.

All subframes fitted to the XJ series I to III and XJ-S/XJS and DB7 will fit. They are all the same...

Guys,

Thanks for all the input (and so quickly). I'm only stateside for a few days more, and have to make sure the shop has what they need. I won't be back here until May.

Seems like buying the 91 was a pretty good move.

On the bushes: I had just replaced all of them when I dropped both the subframes in July last summer and rebuilt all the suspension pieces, brakes and new Cooper tires.

Then wrapped the car into the retaining wall on 495 in Wash DC on it's first outting. 35 miles later.

Somedays...

For anyone following along...

Took these at the frame shop yesterday.

It looks like the control arms came out alright. They pushed the subframe in on the rear side. I suppose the wheel shattering took most of the impact.

Of course the new shock with 50 miles on it got pretty bent.

Ouch. Knowing how it should look, that doesn't look good!

I'm certainly hoping that it's just the upright of the subframe.

This is the wheel (and tire) that took most of the impact.
