Mine leaked for years, I evenutally had to remove the transmission and get the seal replaced, and while it was out I did a rebuild.

You have to remove the transmission, remove the old seal, and stick in a new one. The actual replacement of the seal takes 5 minutes. Getting access to it takes hours.

For now I just keep topping up fluid, I have the same leak.

Sure that it is the tranny seal and not the ever leaking rear rope seal of the engine?

A Jaguar V12 that does not leak is usually out of oil. :-)

Or it is of a later model with lip seals

Well one liquid is gold or black and the other is red, I imagine its hard to get confused which is leaking.

Depending on how old the fluid is and how worn the clutches are, it can be red or black and everything inbetween. Just like engine oil can be cream, beige, gold, brown, black. Depending on age, condition, etc.
