So looking at the simply performance website, they suggest that either a getrag 265 or 290 can be used. These are both pretty rare in the US, however in doing some reading, it seems that the NV 3500 is the same box as the G290 and is commonly used in Dodge and GM truck applications. Has anyone checked into this?

I've wondered the same but never confirmed.

As far as I know, though, there are numerous sub-variations of the NV3500. Not sure if any of them are identical to the 290 in every respect. They might be cousins...but not twin siblings?
