I'd like to repair the rusty body work behind and above the bumper. I'm guessing its a pain to take the thing off...am I wrong?

The rear bumper corner blades on the right and left sides can be removed by undoing the corresponsing (3?) nuts inside and removing the 2 nuts and bolds that connect the corner blades to the main , mid section.
Obviously all these connections will be rusted, and they're not that easy to reach
