Default A good buy if anyone is looking

G,Day Friends
Here is possibly a good buy, from what is written about it makes it an attractive purchase. I would be interested myself if I didn't have all those bits and pieces here with another motor ready to be transplanted into mine, and Bugger his paint looks like it is so much better than mine.
This is only an assumption from what I read and see and an actual inspection should be carried out first, but definitely worth a look.

Very nice!

Coming across a manual XJS in the US is nearly impossible. I'm always monitoring eBay, Hemmings, and the like, and over the past 2 years I've only seen 2 come up for sale, both Cabriolets.

The first was a test mule imported by Jaguar to gauge the market for the Cabriolet, and the second is currently for sale, a 1985 grey market import with the 3.6L/5-speed combo.

I'm sure a 5-speed would be great fun

Thank goodness we don't have to pay what you guys do though.. such a different market!

Yes Have to agree its a very different market from the US or Europe, 29M people vs 300+M and an island as well.
I look at this car this way, to by a good one comparable age vehicle with that mileage would be around 8-10K, the parts for the gearbox exchange another 5K+, plus the other bits upgraded is just simply a bonus. For my sums what he asks is materials only no labour applied, that makes it worth a look.
But I do agree to different markets, funny thing is its still cheaper to buy parts from your neck of the woods and import them then buying them locally, go figure!
