got the old gal running again
so i got the old gal running again today
sounds pretty good to me a bit smokey but i figure it'll clear up after driving it around a little while. i've never seen one running before so i don't know how its supposed to sound anyone able to tell me if it sounds like its running right?
note that there are no pipes on it past the little y pipes and the vaccume advance isnt tubed up yet just installed

I would say the gauges are not operating properly. The oil pressure is way too high at idle and not moving.
Is that blue smoke (oil)
It difficult hear on the PC but it seems to rev nicely, is running on all 12 and even though the exhaust is loud it sounds reasonably smooth. At idle when warm the V12 should be silky smooth almost NO movement .

My volt gauge will sit where yours is until about 2500 RMP, then it will jump to the middle of the dial, the battery and master warning lights will come on for a few seconds and then flicker out, then the gauge stays in the "normal" range.
From watching your rpm's it looks like you hit the revs that would have woken up my meter.
That oil pressure gauge should be moving. But that could just be that the instrument cluster cabling needs some cleaning up (might be the same issue with the voltmeter). If you ever decide to pull it instrument cluster it is A LOT easier if you take the steering wheel off first. Two screws hold the horn push on, and one big bolt holds the wheel on. Otherwise you'll have to shoehorn the cluster out...doable but not a lot of fun.
It sounds good to me!
