That is a huge contribution. For one of the few times in my life, I am beyond adequate words.
Side bar. One of my favorite TV shows is "Blue Bloods". The star plays the role of commissioner of NYPD. An Irish family deeply embedded in law enforcement. Francis Xavier Reagan prefers to be called "Frank".

Just to clarify.....

About 3 years ago I contacted Grant with a view to providing technical input to JJ, of the kind we all enjoyed when he featured regularly in Jag World Monthly. The good news was he was happy to help, the bad news was that with his current commitments he wasn't in a position to do much. The principal issue as I recall, was the lack of hi-res images to go with text that he either had, or could rustle up in good time. He sent me some material and we chose the V12 AAV refurb story, using a series of small numbered images tied into the text numbering. The small size got us past the low resolution issue and I was able to support the story with a couple of pix from my own 79 XJ12L.
Grant's a very busy guy and we more or less left it at that, with an understanding that if he was ever able to generate/reclaim suitable words and images, Jaguar Journal would be more than happy to bring his technical skills and Oz humor to the wide North American audience. I have not communicated with Grant since that time but it sounds like Jon has. I'll obviously be happy to publish anything suitable, either from completed text or clear notes, plus images of course.
NORMAN
Last year, just after Pebble Beach, Jon arranged to bring Norman Lutz around to my place while he was passing through Maryland. The aim was for us all to meet and chat about Norman's own 'Antipodean Archive' of technical stories and Jag info. After a nice meal, we chatted and he left a USB stick behind with his 'papers' on it. I looked through the directory of files, and after going through a long series of very atmospheric shot from Bonneville speed week, I got to the most complete records, covering the history, benefits and execution of his famous 'Lutz Cooling Modifications'. We ran the first feature for the XK and the next issue for the V12 engines.
Jon also gave me a very neat Lutz alloy brace for the plate under the diff, to strengthen it during jacking operations. At the time I had no spare IRS refurbs in the workshop, so I put the custom part away until I did. You can guess the rest: currently, I have two spare IRS assemblies being fixed up, but of course now I can't find the plate. Assuming I find it before the second IRS is completed I'll put something in JJ.
Since those two stories, availability of technical content has improved slightly from various sources, but as with Grant, if Norman can point out or forward a particular file(s) which tells a story rather than being miscellaneous notes, I'll be more than happy to give both guys whatever page space is needed I future to spread their valuable and immensely practical first hand knowledge and techniques.
