Default H&E rear 1/4 window reveal molding weatherstrip?

Is there supposed to be a ~5/8" wide rubber filler strip between the chrome molding and the glass?

Mine is open on both sides, the chrome trim, which feels like it has maybe 1/8" of rubber on the inside, then empty space until the glass is reached.

If so, any suggestions on where to source something like that?

The pic doesn't show it very well., but you can see the large washers that hold the glass in.

Thanks,
Doug

Yes. A rubber strip goes there. Pic was taken when I was working on the car in 2021.
Item NLA. you will have to get something else and adapt it to your car.
I have one on my door glass that has a 1/2 inch piece missing. I am scouring the JYs to see if I find something I can use.

rubber weather strip goes under the chrome and wipes the quarter glass.
The shine on the top is a cleaner/waterproofer?/softner which I applied and left for a week before removing.

It’s just a standard XJS door weatherstrip, cut down. There’s an “arrow head” shape that fits into the chrome strip. I can’t remember if I had to take the glass out, or if I was replacing the plastic bits inside the rear window motors and just happened to do it then. I did not take the chrome strip off the body but had to gouge out the remnants of the old strip arrowhead stuck in the back of the chrome. The rubber did not go 100% to the glass initially, but that turned out to be me poorly adjusting the rear glass/motor assembly.

Doug. After posting, I did some research on the web and I believe "English Parts" have the weather strip. (englishparts, com)
