Default Has anybody found a replacement for this part?

It's what holds the knee bolster for the driver side in place, for facelift cars. Number 10;:

I simply replaced it with an auger shaped dry wall fastener with an appropriately sized screw. It is not visible from the drivers seat anyway. Works fine.

It is used in the roof console of X300/X308, so you can easily find a used one if you check a salvage yard.
Or maybe you can ask some Jaguar dismantler with the part number BBC9868.

Don't know how big the piece is but both Carquest and Napa have good assortments of those type plastic inserts feel sure you could find one that would work. Check the rack that has the "Help" items on it first. If you can't find something on that rack they should have a catalog. The catalog will be for Al Ve Co (sp) products

I agree. Go to Napa of whatever parts place you have close. Chances are the will have something very close and not 20 year old brittle part thats no better than yours.

Ideas:

1. Genric plastic insert for license plate fasteners.

2. Maytag dryer door catch.

3. XJ6 cubby lid latch. Same issue, pold and brittle plastic.

4. Bend up some sheet metal and drill a hole in it.
