Headlight adjustment
1993 XJS
Plan to install HID in XJS. Set up alignment pattern on garage door. Attempted to adjust the headlights by turning the adjusters in forward engine compartment. They were very stiff and did not seem to have any effect on the lights. Thought this would be a strait forward simple matter; should have known better. It's a Jaguar! Am about to pul the whole assembly to lubricate the cables, but would appreciate any info before I start
PS. Looks like there are three screws holding the Bezel. To remove the bottom screw is there a simplier method to remove besides pulling the bumper??????

Of course you can remove that screw without removing the bumper!
You just need a longer screwdriver with the right head on it. Ratchets are too big and most magnetic headed screwdrivers are too bulky.
You either need to find the right screw driver, or perhaps a long enough magnetic tip to reach.

Vee: Thank you, Bezel is off the car. I have a red face, because I thought the screw that held the bezel was 90 degrees to the bumper and entered into the bezel. did not see the proper screw to remove; the one in the back!
My whole purpose in this exercise is to lubricate and inspect the headlight aligment controls. All four controls are very stiff and I don't seem to get much movement on the lights. Normal???
After removing the Bezel I expected to see more bolts holding the headlight assembly in the car. Found one large philips screw, removed it, Nada! Looked at page 86-20 in the CD manual, no help! I have a feeling the answer is in the inspection port in the wheel well. At 87 I may be able to get in there, but I will become an intricate part of the car.
Would appreciate an answer. I want to put the HID lights in, but I don"t want to blind oncoming drivers
