Headlight Removal 1993 XJS USA MODEL
After the removal of the headlight bezel on a 1993 XJS USA, does the lamp assembly snap out or are there more screws to remove? I am aware that the adjuster cables must first be released. I have also read that there are five screws to be removed, but I think they are on the pre face lift models. Need just a little hand holding. Thanks

I have to agree with you P.L. but my headlight came out about an inch on one side and a helpful onlooker snap it back in. Hence the reason I asked if it snaps out. I pulled on it and could not get it to budge. Maybe I didn't pull hard enough.
I looked for the screws and found two torx type screws going into the black ring you pointed out. again I am unsure that they need to be removed. I need to get into the inside of the lamp to remove a part that dropped inside. I considered removing the clips that hold the lens to the body of the lamp assembly, but am fearful that it is glue to its backing. Any help from anybody would be appreciated.

Found a total of four torx bolts and remove them; could not find the fifth bolt, unless access to it is through the wheel well. The location of the found bolts were two on top and two on the bottom each near the side. My son and I both feel that the fifth bolt comes in from the wheel well and found one bolt head very low down and blocked by the windshield washer reservoir. At 88 doing a contortion act is near impossible and my son, who is helping me, moans about not bending that way. Still need more detail on the location of bolt five. ANYBODY

I must admit I had the same issue but when reading the official Jaguar Service Manual it seems that all the T30's are accessible from the front. One of them is on the inside (near the grille) and is tucked away slightly behind the lens. Normal tools will not allow you to loosen it. You will need a 30 cm long T30 Torx screwdriver that is not too bulky. I have ordered one just now and am picking it up tomorrow. Will let you know how it goes.
