Headlight surround for XJ-S 1988
Hey all, as with others I am finding out the "COST" of being a Jaguar owner. I purchased a 1988 XJ-S with only 45k and only one thing that really is wrong with the exterior. I am missing the drivers side headlight surround as I am seeing it's called. I have found some on different sites although there all around $200 each. Is this right?
As I said I'm new and trying not to jump to quick with any purchases till I learn.

Yeah, that sounds about right. When I bought my '88 XJS years ago it came with a stack of invoices, including one for two replacement headlight bezels for $160 each. So, $200 each, ten years later, doesn't sound out of line.
Trim items are expensive on Jags. Most the mechanical stuff, though, is fairly inexpensive.
Cheers

The problem with finding a good used one is always the peeling chrome plating. I have some that are better than average for cheap, but they are not perfect.
Hopefully the guy who received my complete sat of headlamps will see this post, he got two good surrounds with both mounting bracket assemblies for the cost of one new surround.

Try ebay, their on there all the time. One that keeps coming up pretty often are "like new" for $95.00 each. Like JagtecOhio said, you have to watch for the plastic peeling, so lots of photos are needed on ebay.
