I was told that if I still out we're you put the key the steering lock will pop off so we can steer it out the garage and move it to it's new home , will this work or is the steering lock electrical ? What is "f reg" ?

I'm afraid that is meaningful only to UK residents.

What year is the car?

Cheers

Worst case, you could possible rent 4 wheel dollies so the car could be moved out of the garage and possibly to a flat bed. Don't know for sure since I never had to try it.

for our overseas cousins, 'f reg ' is a late 1988 or early 1989 car , sep to april

as for the ignition , the steering lock is on snap head bolts and is a pita to remove

the ignition switch however will come off the back and you can start the car

while working around this area disconnect the battery

you will be able to drive the car which ever way the front wheels are pointing, unless you want to damage the steering column and lock by forcing it
