Default How much brake fluid to bleed the entire system?

How much brake fluid do I need to flush out the entire system on a 88 XJ-S? Will I be fine using Valvoline Dot 3-4 fluid? Valvoline/12 oz. DOT 3 and 4 brake fluid (601457) | Brake Fluid | AutoZone.com

My local store is having a sale on this fluid, and I've always had good luck with Valvoline motor oil.

This came up some time ago.

I then stated I use about 1ltr to do that task, others use more or less, so the amount is really up in the air a tad.

The flushing of some cars is simple and fast, others take longer, and use more fluid to get it "just right".

Yesterday, I did a 84 XJ-S, and it was GRUBBY, and I used about 750ml, but honestly I NEVER measure it, it simply is not that important.

I use Valvoline also, or whatever is on special, and Dot3 or 4 is just fine.
