What is the best way to remove the door sill so that I can remove the carpeting for cleaning? I'd like to avoid breaking anything. Is it just clipped on, and I need to pry it off, or is it screwed on somehow?

 

It is just clipped in. Here's the parts diagram.

They are buggers to remove, but they do just pry off, use a large flat blade screwdriver and gently lift it from one corner, the clips are in a channel under the trim and will all slide out if you lift the sill up on one corner (Yes it took me ages to find them all).

 

Perfect! Came out with a little force, but it was not difficult at all. I was just being too careful at first
