Sirjagelot,

Good to hear you got the Cat back.

I have replaced my TPS once and disconnected it once (not removed).

NOT FOR THE FAINT AT HEART!!!

There is a manual procedure on the 96’s that can be utilized….I KNOW I DID IT AND IT WORKED……YOU WILL HAVE TO RESEARCH. I will try to locate info. Believe it was in my jag repair manual.

Vee is correct if you choose not to do it yourself. Ask for help from the forum to locate someone reputable in your area.

Are you able to do some of the other repairs yourself.

If you want to discuss send me a private email.

The manual version is basically enlargen the holes on the TPS and torque it back so its tight enough to hold it in place, but not too tight so it cannot be adjusted by hand (with the enlargened holes, you have some play in it's final position)

Then with everything in place, and the engine running, you adjust that TPS until idle is where it's supposed to be, then tighten the screws in place, locking it's position permanently.
