I was going how fast!!
My GPS read 66 and my speedo reads 70. I have the correct size tires however they are well warn and over due for replacement. I was told by a Jag service manager that my 7.5 inch wide rims may be part of the problem. I have a refinished set on factory 7.0 inch width wheels my new tires will be going on, as soon as Costco puts them back on sale...
On the highway near my place, there's one of those speed radar sign things that shows how fast you're going as you whiz by it. My truck speedo matches it exactly but the Jaguar's speedo reads 15 to 20 kmh faster than the sign. It makes me look like an old duffer tootling along 20 kms below the speed limit while everyone else whizzes by me. I'm just going to figure out the relative speeds and drive accordingly.
Sounds like a problem with the instrument itself.
If you were losing the electric signal the odoemeter would stop working as well.
Cheers

I agree with Doug. If it was a faulty transducer or bad connection the odometer would stop when the speedo does. Speedo's do break ...... you haven't been winding it off the clock recently (that will do it - or at least it did back in the old days of cable speedo's).
