Default idle problem, high fuel consumption

Hi everybody
I am new here! My name is Klaus and I live in the south of Germany at the lake Starnberg.
Last year I bought a Jaguar XJS '92 4.0 manual in British racing green in Milan Italy. No rust but Italian servicing. Unbelievable! I am still working to get the car to run properly.
They removed the catalytic converter and they more or less did no work properly. So the car looks great but doesn't run great.
The engine is the problem... Idle is rough and up and down. The fuel consumption for a manual far too high. The falt on display is ff24.
So far I changed the catalytic converter, O2 sensor, IACV, airflow meter, spark plugs, temperature sensor... The ECU was checked by a professional. No change and I am running out of Ideas...
Does the AJ6 engine have a crank shaft position sensor? Any other ideas. I would be very grateful for any help!
Cheers Klaus

From the Jag-lovers forum about FF24:

FF24 refers to the ECU’s monitoring of ignition amplifier function. You may want to check wire integrity and connection to your ignition amplifier (on the '93, 4 liter, left hand drive, the
amplifier is usually mounted in the engine bay to the upper right of the radiator, right next to the head light adjustment screws and in front of the coil).

You might want to look at the throttle position sensor, and adjust the voltage to the correct value. I forget it off the top of the my head, but it's well detailed in the forums. The procedure is identical to the XJ40 sedans ( 1987-94) so those forums may help you as well.

Yes, there is a crankshaft position sensor and it is a known failure point. Looking at the engine from the front, should be about 10 o clock position (i.e right side of the car). Part 17 in the diagram: https://parts.jaguarlandroverclassic.../brand/jaguar/

Hi there,
I don't know why I oversaw the ignition amplifier... I opened it and sprayed it with WD 40 and the idle was completely different to before.
I will check it out properly on the weekend and will keep you posted!
Thanx again!!
