Are you referring to 100LL? It's nasty stuff that tetraethyl lead. It can damage O2 sensors and cats and will make a mess of the plugs. I inspected plugs every 100 hours and after that time they are close to fouled if the pilots didnt pay attention to the mixture. I would not put it in anything.

Good catch.

Yeah, I wasn't thinking. I work on (and store) mostly older cars without cats and O2 sensors.

I've had no problems with fouled plugs, though.

Ahh ok gotcha. Yeah one tank of it probably wouldn't mess up the plugs too bad. Just dont breathe the exhaust. GAMI just had a new 100UL approved so hopefully that will roll out in full scale production soon.

The Ethanol inE10 is 114 MON Using the British RON method it’s rated even higher.
When adding ethanol think of it as Super premium. Anybody who tells you that Ethanol is bad for your car is probably confusing Methanol with Ethanol. They are both alcohols that have been used as a fuel supplement or stand alone fuel. Ethanol does nothing bad. Methanol does a lot of things that are bad. Ethanol is beer wine and scotch. Methanol is poison.
Just for information. MON. Stands for motor octane number RON stands for research Octane number
America uses both numbers divided by 2.
The American fighter and Bomber planes of WW2 used 115/145 ( mon/Ron /2 ).
When the Americans starting sending 125/145 to ENGLAND the Spitfires, etc got a lot more powerful.
