Do any of you guys know of any decent machine shops in the States that will be able to weld some injector bungs into my intakes?

Basically Im putting in different injectors and fuel rails and need some larger bungs welded in the intakes.

I would think any qualified welder could tig weld some in for you, then have the machined at your local shop. I would just caution you to check for distortion from the heat before installing.

 

Heat from the welds or heat from the V?

 

the heat from the welds, because you're bringing the temperature up to melt metal in small areas where the rest will not be so hot.

 

i have done that procedure a few times, on other engines.
be sure you have the rails and couple injectors that you are gonna use, so you can make sure of the angle and injector position is correct.

and as far as heat warp ,you should resurface the manifold to head surface, just to be sure it wont leak air.

on mine i also had the plenums and runners EXTRUDE HONED, for a smooth air run, and i , thermal coated the piston tops, complete head surface, all valves ,and most important the long exhaust ports,not inlets.
