so what sends the RPM and crank position information to the ECU for injector pulse on an 85 V12? does this engine have a crank position sensor or what? ive looked all over google and cant find anything.

megasquirt either needs a CPS or a VR sensor.

 

MS only needs a tach signal. That can come from a set of points, a hall sensor, a VR, or other signal that determines engine speed. There is no crank or cam sensor needed.

The Jag ECU picks up its tach signal from the ignition amp and feeds it to the ECU on pin 16. There is no crank position sensor.
