Default inside the wiper motor

Well, the semi-rebuild of the cat goes well. I've got the engine more-or-less doing what it's supposed to do, although I do need to get the full-throttle and kickdown switches wired up. Until then I'll take it easy...

The wipers don't work, and then did before I started working on the car, but I'm getting the voltages the Kirby book says I should be getting at the pins in the wiper "compartment". So I pulled the motor apart. Needless to say it's a mess, but it looks like a PO had a problem with one of the magnets, as it's been JB Welded back into position.

One thing I noticed is that of the three brushes, two of them (on the yellow and pink wires) move easily, but the one of the blue wire feels a bit tight. What is the recommended lubricant in this case?

On the motor magnets, you can see that one has a groove at the bottom, the next one at the top and bottom, and the next one at the top. Why would this be?

Thanks,

John
