Default Install Fog Lights on a 1996

Has anyone installed fog lights on a 6 cyl. car? There is a switch in the dash for fog lights but I don't know if there are any wires going to it. Also is the harness wired for fog lights in a 1996? If it is not too difficult I'd like to install fog lights on my 96 XJS.

The fog light switch operates the rear fog lights. For front fog lights, here's a start

If your car has two fog light switches, it is probably already wired for fog lights and someone removed the front fog lights. If you just have one fog light switch, you will have to follow directions given elsewhere in the forum. I believe Jaguar used the same harness on all 1996 cars so the front plugs are probably there.

Al,

If you're looking to install the original Hella fog lights, remember:

- the mount brackets are unique to the late big-bumper XJSs
- the Hella 155 lights had a unique back to the light which reversed the orientation of the bracket attachment plate. It's technically possible to use the earlier Hella (and XJS) lights and drill out the rivets, turn the plate through 180 degrees and re-rivet it back into place.

Good luck

Paul

Hi All - I am installing these on my series 3.

I'm just curious if there is anything to know going into this project. Even though these aren't CIBIEs I'm hoping it still as straightforward as many forums and threads describe.

To drill into the bumper seems like it might be a difficult step and then mounting.

Thank you for any feedback!

I’ve done this on my ‘95 convertible, and made a post about the process.
