Default Jag Bag found in Jag (XJS V12)

Hi

I've just found this 'Jag Bag' in the Boot/Trunk of my XJS that I am restoring.

Does anyone know, if this had a Specific Purpose, or shall I just use it to put my Sandwiches in?

Probably just a promotional thing. I'm not aware of the cars being shipped with bags of any sort when new.

Over the years I've accumulated a variety of "Jaguar Bags" which are given out at Jaguar car shows, or for being a concours participant, and such

Cheers

Nice find but I have to agree with DD, The sandwich is probably a good idea though.

I remember those days of pull out decks and removable faceplates. Back when decks where expensive $500-700.
Can you imagine walking around with the bag with a stereo inside. To the bar, restaurants and movie theatres. What a joke.
Not anymore. $150 buys a deck with cd,mp3,radio,satellite radio, blutooth and Ipod connect. They're not worth stealing anymore.
Thank god.

I was thinking the same thing!

Why would anyone in their right mind, want to take a Radio out of their Car to carry around in a shoulder bag, even though it cannot be played, while it is out of the Car.

When all you really need to do, is lock it in the Boot/Trunk

It's just a trivial matter, this bag, but I'm not really convinced it was for a radio or radio faceplate. In his listing the Ebay seller *speculated* that it might be a radio bag of some sort.

I'm inclined to think that if Jaguar issued radio bags for the radio faceplates the subject would've have come up at various times in past....and we wouldn't be guessing about it right now

Cheers

I have two 8 track decks in my parts shed. One might include a locking slide so as to allow the deck to be removed and taken along.

Stealing decks and radios was once quite popular...

Absolutely!

They used to have things that resembled Spectacle Cases, so you could take the faceplate of the Radio and Carry it with you.
