Driving up to Donnington, car driving well then 90 miles from home power suddenly fails, manage to free wheel off Motorway. After a few mins car started ok. Left for for 20 mins then continued, motorway and other road. Then 80 miles later power fails again, pulled onto hard shoulder. Again, restarted ok after 10 mins, and carried on (nervously). Got within 2 miles of hotel and same thing. Car driving smoothly one moment, then no power. This time would not start again. Left her for 30 mins, but no joy. Walked to hotel, drowning sorrows. Any suggestion?

 

Which model, which engine, gradual loss of power or instantaneous?

 

Could be any number of things... perhaps something as simple as the ignition amplifier on its way out?
