jaguar xjs electrical problems
hey there guys i have a 1992 v12 xjs convertible. my car is having some electrical problems. here they are and all stoped working at once the convertible stoped working the power windows stoped the heater stoped and the radio stoped oh and the turn signal flashers stop. all of this stops at the same time and in a day or two it is back and working fine then it all stops working once more any help would be cool.
Are all these items only live when the ignition is on? or at least on position 1?
If so, the ignition switch is a place to start, and follow the circuit from there to the main load relay the switch (I presume on a facelift) activates.

I would definitely be looking for the relay/relays, as you are loosing a major power source. With that many things failing at the same time. The relay or connections to it would be my best guess. Hope it helps.
The facelift XJS has a load relay, AND an auxiliary relay.
All of the circuits that were reported to have simultaneously failed are powered from the auxiliary relay.
This relay is located in the passenger fuse box, right hand side of the car. It is the only relay on that panel on a black base.
As Greg said, thats the best place to start. While the car is running, wiggle the relay and see if you can recreate the issue.
If it was me, I would just replace the relay anyway..... relays are cheap and plentiful.
