Can you install a 1992 Jaguar XJS Insturment panel in a 1990 Jaguar XJS.

The simple answer is yes, it's just a matter of the connector. Not sure if the connector is different, but it is doable.

Personally I wouldn't mind installing a pre-facelift panel in my facelift car. I have grave suspicions as to whether the wood around it is actual wood, and the pre-facelift is a wonderfully quirky design.

The "wood" surround on the late XJS, XJ40, X300 is not wood but what I assume to be plastic. Drove me nuts on my 97 XJ6L that it had all this rich, beautiful wood and this completely un matching hunk of plastic wood around the instruments. I actually prefer the look of the "barrel" gauges on the pre facelift.

There was a thread earlier about doing this. I think that it meant getting new gauges and a custom made dash.
