.

i checked out the pix, Bennett does some very nice work, i must say!

the car should be a head turner, at most any show, and be a great street car!

HP stock more than any Jag V12 we have on this site, and with some mods on the 3.5L twin turbo. V6, i have seen some posts of over 500hp ,some close to 600hp YIKES. a nice lightweight engine/trans combination!

what are the going prices of those engines/trans. with computer?

Thanks much, the engine/trans from ford racing for around 15k the computer is just under 2 from a source that I will have to get back to you with.A group in Michigan built a 34 ford with this motor but a manual which would be much but this auto with this chassis requires a custom setup.I chose this motor for it's torque in keeping with British gt tradition. I am looking at a target hp of around 400 as the stock torque is 420 at a fairly low 1650 rpm or so. Bennett has been invited to display some of their work of the past 30 years at the Greater Milwaukee Auto Show next month in a 5000 sq/ft area. If you look around on their page you can see a 70's Aston a Maserati Ghibli, and a very rare Iso Grifo they are restoring. The nice thing is even though i kinda felt I was in some intimidating company they are just as exited about the Jag and treat him with the same respect . I call it him because he started out as Roger Moore and is being tranformed into Daniel Craig

OP, been waiting for this for a long time!!!

In all seriousness, I have a NICE XJS roller - completely missing the drivetrain. If I find a complete Ferrari, Mercedes, or BMW V12 drivetrain (and complete I mean I have the entire car and all ECUs, etc.) - do you think your guys could transplant it in the Jag?

And Ron, don't think I can afford your Audi diesel transplant man - cool as it sounds!!

I believe Bennett could do just about anything. The website for Bennett Coachworks is Milwaukee WI Hot Rod Builders | Auto Restoration Services | Vehicle Updating | Bennett Coachworks
Take a look and in the meantime I will call Bob Bennett and run it past him.

XJSTT, thanks for that info on your builder. I am not opposed to lumps, as long as it's something (subjectively) better than the original engine. So far I'm leaning towards the 2003+ Mercedes twin turbo V12s. No idea if they would fit, but if so.... Ron, these engines will be in the same power numbers as your Audi. Probably worse gas mileage though (WHO CARES).

[edit] We need to see some video of this Jag!

The MB tt 12 is a torque monster, 690 to 738 . Prices on sl600 and sl65's in that year range have reached the bottom and are crazy inexpensive as they were 130 to almost 200k new. The sl600 is a real sleeper , I came very close to getting one.

I would need to take some serious performance driving lessons to handle that kind of power.

Hey Flint, talked to Bob Bennett And he says if it fits it can be done. He would need t W/L /Height (from oil pan to top) tranny is usually not a problem but would be good to know that also.
When mine is ready to fire up we will video it.
