Lister XJS-V12
Fuel tank- I had it inspected by my mechanic and have been using the car. Except for a faint smell which I believe is in the trunk carpet I have not found any leaks. Car is registered now.
As for driving it to texas in theory I guess you could. I would just be unsure of it due to age and not being driven. I have driven it around here quite a bit and she seems fine.

Would be nice to see such a rare vehicle donated to one of the XJSers who volunteered to adopt it. What will the non profit do? Most likely sell it for nothing to someone who can't appreciate it?
Sadly, many of the vehicles I see donated don't last long as the people who get them don't take care of them.
A few years ago I GAVE a car to someone because they couldn't afford to buy one. It ran good, had good tires and everything but the paint was faded. That winter I got a rather nasty phone call from them for giving them a "junk car". They never bothered to check the antifreeze and drove it until it overheated and blew the headgaskets.

I would if I could! I blew my appendix this summer and ate through all my spending cash to keep the bills paid. The body healed good but it takes longer to build up that financial cushion in case of another emergency!
Sorry to hear about your health, but glad you're all fixed up now! I'm gonna have to email this thread to some of my gearhead buddies. Pack some spare fuses, cap & rotor, tools, GPS, and ROAD TRIP!!!!!
Ah-yup, doing much better! Which is even worse I suppose, because I'm healthy enough to work on it, I have a truck and a trailer and just need that green stuff...maybe I'll buy a few scratch tickets...lol...who knows?
Ken,
Pm Reply'd to.
Car is still available and is in my garage. I am including all the original paperwork, original manuals, and cassette of owners manual. I have every receipt from this car since the previous owner had it. Air conditioning was changed to 134a by the way. This car is a STEAL! Someone just buy the damn thing, I need the space!

I'm curious about this too. Is the Lister a cosmetic package, or are there suspension and engine components also?
Am I missing something?...... I don't know if in the US it was something different but here in the UK, that is definately not a Lister
A Lister looks like this

It had a bored out V12 to 7ltr with 700BHP and was tuned to the eyeballs, what that looks like to me is an XJS with some skirts on which are similar to the old TWR kits
I maybe wrong, but I never knew of a Lister that looked like that, just google it and look at the images

That is the true lister. A lot of XJS's had a lister package added. It consisted of wheels, steering wheel, center caps, body skirts, front valance, and badging.
This is not a 7.0 V12. It is a normal XJS with the lister package.

i'm with XKracer on this ,,its a TWR kit. nothing much special.
i drove a TWR car back in 1993 at Daytona 24hrs, it was a big heavy tank and not much performance.
and if its going into a debate, i can get out my old pic books.
let it go to the yard in the sky!
