I was in the rear right area of my 92 jaguar coupe today.

I noticed that the 40Amp white relay was properly cabled, but was not mounted anywhere. It was just hanging, without any obvious place to mount it. Is this normal?

Also, I noticed a red connector with three wires which was not connected to anything in the same area. What is this for?

 

Unused connectors are fairly common....typically for optional or market-specific equipment not installed on all cars. Or it could be a lighting connector for trailer towing.

The un-mounted relay hanging all by its lonesome seems a little odd to me but I'm not familiar with the 90s vintage XJSs. What are the wire colors?

I think that there was a black, green, and red but only about 50% certain. I should have taken a picture.

The unused CD changer cable is also there, and it's neatly wrapped up and tied to a clip, making these other two look decidedly odd.

 

The wires were black, red/black, and brown/white. Pic is attached. I'm curious if anyone knows what this is for.
