Default Marelli from Lucas swap.

Hello folks,
After my 1989 V12 XJS dropped a valve seat last month, I have a chance of a new engine, however its running the Lucas set up and not the marelli. I assume its only a matter of swapping the distributor and connecting the pully/flywheel pick ups and I guess the crank pully itself? Any advice would be a great help!

Thanks,

Neil.

Neil,

I've moved your question from General Tech Help to XJS forum. Members here with the same model will be able to help.

Perhaps flywheel as well? Not sure.

Also not sure about the *mounting holes/brackets/whatever* for the flywheel and crank pulley sensors. For the front sensor, at least, I think a different t/chain cover was used?

Cheers

The rear is a different part number. The front is a bracket fitted inplace of the timing mark thingey...

A bracket could possibly be fabricated for the front pulley sensor but it was originally mounting by boss cast into timing cover. Rear mount is in lower flywheel cover so that would be easier to swap out than front.

Is your original engine rope or Lip seal, if its lip seal I would be keeping the original block, and swap the just the bad head and piston if needed.
