Miami Vice 'Daytona' looks so similar to the XJS or is it just me?
Of course, one of the advantages of a clone is that they don't cost this much, at least most of them don't;

That's what the 1978 Pininfarina XJS Spider concept would have given us. I remember seeing it at the Motor Show and thinking it was just stunning

Hi Paul (ptjs)
That's what we are talking about!
If only they had made that dream a reality, it may have been even better than a Ferrari
P.S. (ptjs) When you had a Test Drive in the Daytona, can you remember what body parts you had to leave behind, just in case you went and wrote it off!

A point of history... the cars were made by "kit car" mfg McBurnie in California. Ferrari served them a "Cease and Dessist" order on the Tessa Rossa. They claimed trademark infringement. When they made California Daytona knock-off, Ferrari went to high courts and got an international law against them, which proved to be the death nell of the Kit Car industry. GM was involved on the side since it was well known a corvette hid under the fiberglass. GM's involvement made it apply equally in North America.n
