Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus
Has anyone had any experience with these tires (225 60 ZR16)? This is the only tire Costco or Sam's club will install on the 95 XJS due to the 98W ZR rating. Are these tires noisy and how well do they wear? Are there any other quality tires out there that this group would put on their XJS in the same price range ($144.00 each). I guess my driving is much like other XJS drivers, a little aggressive and like to push through the turns. Next project is to beef up the suspension for those turns.

I don't have experience with that specific tire but have heard good things from others and have had great luck with Michelins in general.
You might visit TireRack. They offer about a dozen performance-oriented choices in that size. You can narrow down searches by speed rating, load rating, etc.
As for "how well they wear?", well, pay close attention to the tread life ratings. Many performance-type tires have a low rating despite a very high price. Be wary of any rating below "400" unless you like replacing tires every 12000 miles or so :-). Most, but not all, Michelins have a high tread life rating.
I have BF Goodrich "Advantage TA" on my XJR. These are a 98V tire. Quiet, fantastic grip wet or dry, no tramlining or hydro-planing. A wee bit soft of steering response but not objectionably so. I got 40k miles out of the last set. Not an all-out performance tire but a decent touring/performance compromise for about $100 each.
Others will chime in
Cheers

I believe both Falken and Yokohama make a z speed rated tire in that size. The Falken would be considered a good mid-grade tire, while the Yokohama would be a premium tire. You should be able to find either one for a bit less than the $144.00 you have the Michelins priced at.
Also, when comparing tread life ratings as Doug suggest, be aware that the ratings are not the same from brand to brand. A 600 rating with Michelin is not equivalent to a 600 rating with Yokohama. (or any other brand for that matter) Each company has their own tread life rating scale. Higher numbers last longer, but equall numbers between different companys are not equall.
Hope some of this helps.
