I got REALLY REALLY SICK of the mud sticking to the car, so I made my own mud flaps (front wheels only).
They are 1/8th inch HDPE sheet and have a cute leaper on each one.
The best part was the price...free for the sheet HDPE since I had it sitting around...and the leapers were a fairly cheap purchase on ebay.
Operationally, they are pretty effective. Appearance wise they really don't look half bad, but given that the car could use a lot of body work, they fit right in
The outside corner is ever-so-slightly-rounded (enough that it's hard to tell I guess), but a bit more might well help. If I overdo it, they are cheap/easy enough to remake.
Look good, I need a set of those, I ditched my OEM mudflaps years ago when I lived in the city, now I live next to a Dairy Farm I need them again, hosing cow S@#t of the XJS is a common occurrence in winter.
I agree with rounding the outside corner a little more. You could use a cup as a template for the radius.

Cup?...I was thinking more of a beer can after finishing one.
