Default Mystery cable

This is a mystery question pertaining to the possible installation of an older Cell Phone in circa 1993 into a 1993 XJS Coupe The cable is just left of the left fuse box.
I am new to this car and found a four wire shielded cable with a red, black, slate. and a braided wire plus the shield. It is alleged that there could have been a cell phone installed in the car. Black and red wires are usually power lines and the braided wire acts as shielding. I don't know the usual purpose of the slate wire. Does anybody have a clue on the use of this four wire cable or suggestions on its use?

left of the drivers side fusebox sounds more like the location of a security device to me

My 95 has the factory wiring harness in the trunk, actually there are two harnesses. both have Jaguar part numbers. I have coiled them up together and tucked it away behind the driver side rear wheel well. My console top was recessed in the center for the hand set. So I believe all wiring was to the rear of the car and would not have been connected to any fuse boxes in the forward sections. I replaced my console lid and you would never know it had been there.

At least one of those rear harnesses is for the cd changers. Luckily my phone got mounted on the passenger side kick panel, so it isn't too noticeable

Perhaps my description lacked clarity.. The cable that contains the wires is to the left of the driver side fuse box in the cabin. The wires have been stripped by a previous owner, but it appears to be a factory cable. I have no idea where the cable starts......
The left blower motor does not function, but I don't think that these wires are associated with the blower circuit; I could be wrong???
I thank you all for your replies!

Including the tracer, what color are the wires?

Colors are blaxk red and white, none have a tracer. There is a braided wire in addition to a braided sheath. The cable has a black cover. The previous owner striped the wires and left ends uncovered.

sidescrollin... I have the CD changer in the trunk (boot) the two harnesses are both for a telephone. There were two different phone manufactures offered is my guess. They both reference telephone equipment on the tags. It was two years ago when I was working on it and I don't remember which phone manufactures they referenced. Of course at my age I eat the same breakfast every day so if someone asks what I had for breakfast there is a 50 50 chance I can answer that...
