Default Mystery Object - Does anyone know what this Case was used for?

Does anyone know what this case was used for, or what I could use it for now?

I picked it up in a Charity Shop for a Fiver, as it looked a bit of a bargain and was too good to miss.

I would suspect it was made for wine bottles or some other kind of alcohol related item.

Hi Mark

I think you are probably right but was wondering if I could use it for something like a 'Tool Box' which could lay flat in the Boot/Trunk.

Since its not real leather, I'm not too precious about it but from a couple of feet away it looks a bit 'High End'

I'm thinking tool box. I like the dividers. I have an old suite case I use for my tools. Its old enough to look good in there.

Hi BC

I was also thinking Tool Box but since it was raining Yesterday, I never had the chance to see how it would either fit or look inside the Boot/Trunk.

But it does have a certain High End look that may well suit the Car, I'll have to see.

Hi Jonathan

I did think about using it for Bottles of Wine, which I think was its original purpose but I've got too many Bottles to go in it.

Though being an XJS, I thought a Selection of Fire Extinguishers, might be more appropriate.

If it was a genuine Jaguar case it probably held a bunch of these;

I just figured out the purpose of the mystery case...

...it's for the dismembered body parts of the previous owner who mounted the leaper in such a deranged spot on your bonnet.

That's why it has a monogrammed "M" on the cover. For "Mmmm what the **** was he thinking?"

Where is the Jaguar CONFIDENCE guys. I ONLY travel with the tools that Jaguar supplied, and they have NEVER been used in any of the Jags. Ya gotta have FAITH mate, or get a pushbike, with a leaper on the handlebars of course.

All this talk of Tools, Fire extiguishers, Lucas Smoke (BEST REPLY SO FAR), has so much weight onboard, the performance and economy just plain sucks.

I would use it for SMALL wine bottles, Cheese and Crackers, a small Caviar, and really score some serious brownie points with the GF.

So far its ALL about the car, what about the "Minister for Everything" that we all have.

Harken to the voice of a TRUE Jaguar owner. It is for this exclusive group that the car was designed.
Only one small semantic point WoOz, considering your Country's reputation for consumption, I take it that small wine bottles in Australia are what we consider normal sized ones over here?

Ah yes, I can see now that the WoOz has tutored you well! A true Grand Tourer's maintenance kit should have such perfect spanners. But of course, only so you can demonstrate effortless one-upmanship when offering assistance to a delicate creature whose own inferior vehicle has failed to proceed.

NOOOO.

Our SMALL is 750ml. Wont fit in that sucker.

I remember well, a function in the outback, Road Train bogged, 2 weeks for the road to dry out so we could move again, so set up Aussie style.

BBQ, Road Kill, and a 20ltr container with a TAP, full of liquid nourishment. Good to go.

HAHAHAHA.

Only if they be GOOD looking and sporting suitable roadside attire, Daisy Duke springs to mind.

Fellow Jaguar drivers usually get the RAW deal, YA SHOULD HAVE FIXED IT PROPER BEFORE YA LEFT HOME.

Jags do NOT break down, just the nut behind the wheel.

Real sympathetic I am, HAHA.
