this is coming out of my center console via a hole in the console compartment. any idea what it is for?

 

Looks like an old iPhone or iPod connector.

 

fits nothing i have. just shove it back in the console i guess.

 

Looks like someone added a 30 pin connector. It may be worth tracing it back and seeing whats on the other end. If its, say, USB, you could replace it with a newer cable and have a way to charge you phone. It may also be wired into the stereo.

 

I would guess thats the factory Motorola star tac phone option. It also came with a holder in the armrest.

 

thats probably right although progress has passed it up. will just shove it back in and leave it alone.
