I just purchased a 1991 XJS Convertible with 38,000 miles. The car is beautiful and everything works. The problem is that I do not have it's service history and would like to go head to toe with fluids etc.
I need help right now in two areas. This car will be garaged and driven only in fair weather. What oil (Specifically) would you advise. Also looking to find who mosr of you folks use for basic parts? Any and all advice is appreciated. Thank You.

If it's a V12 I'd go with 20/50. That's the most popular choice among V12ers. Some drop down to 10/40 in the winter.

For 6 cylinder XJSs 10/30 and 10/40 are popular and suitable

Nothing exotic is required. I use whatever name brand that's on sale the day. Others have particular favorites.
