In a recent Craigslist listing in Houston, Texas, the seller posted a number of photos of his "restorable" MK II.
In the photo i have attached, in the background of the MK II, there appears to be a Jaguar 2 door coupe. The hood/bonnet profile as well as the wheel trims appear to be those of an XJS however, the rear of the car is certainly not an XJS coupe.
The seller professes not to know where or when the picture was taken but recalled that the car in the background was without engine.
Do anyone know what this car could be?
Thanks for the replies. I'm was and remain too much of a novice to have suggested that this car was indeed a desirable XJC. Good to know that I was correct. I originally called the MK II seller in an effort to find out where the car may be. Seems that unless someone is prepared to buy his MK II, the seller will continue to suffer from amnesia.

Paul..I guess my original signature as I tried to sort out attaching a photo the right way up will continue to haunt me. No, indeed the XJS remains a 1995 convertible. I think at some time, i was trying to find out why my dash indicator lights were not working. Seems i had a "bulb out" fault which disabled these indicators. All is good now. I'm still trying to get a handle on the lack of cold A/C which is a must here in Texas and limiting the car's functionality.
I'm now in the process of buying a 1993 XJS Coupe to replace my VW as my "day driver" and hope to complete that deal next week The car is high mileage and is a AJ6, not AJ16, however has stayed with the original owner and was serviced by the Jaguar Dealer who sold her the car. We'll see!
Maybe a candidate for an AJ16 conversion if I've bought a lemon?

Oh I see, it's a Convertible, not a Cabriolet. I just got confused by your signature. Lovely wheels. IMO, those 20-spoke 6 litre wheels are best XJS wheels that were fitted (apart from the Kents on my pre-HE!).
I'm sure you'll be happy with an AJ6. It's still a really good engine. And I suspect an AJ16 conversion is quite fiddly because of the very different ecu, coil-on-plug and no-distributor differences. But hey, anything is possible!

Once place that AC system frequently leaks is the R134 ports themselves. They are standard GM parts, they unscrew easily. I'd begin by replacing the ports and then perform a vacuum test and see if it holds vacuum. I'm assuming the problem is leaking refrigerant, not poor AC performance when there is adequate refrigerant?
Paul..I need to learn how to update my "signature". Re the AJ16 upgrade, I agree but here in the USA, there were very few AJ16 equipped coupes. Most sold here from 1993 to 1996 were convertibles.
