New paint Old XJS
LOL. I put them on and thought, That just doesn't look right. Then I googled pics and that was what was shown, must of been a U.K. car
Now that I've looked at a few parked on the other side I prefer mine, out of the way parked on the passenger side.
I checked out yours (those wire wheels look like a lot of work) and the wipers look like they would be distracting.
You did an awesome job, what did you use for paint? I have a 97 x300 that I will be having done within the next year. Did you match the color or did you use the factory paint. I'm very dissatisfied with the clearcoat paint that came from the factory. I've had the car since 2000, CPO, and the clear coat started flaking off before five years on the roof and the panel behind the trunk.
The colour was PPG and the clear Dupont, I was told was the best available. It was 75% more expensive than the next best. $360 for a gallon plus activator and reducer.(not that expensive = best). I just ordered the colour to match the code that was on the car.
It's to early to tell how it will stand up, but I was meticulous following all prep and mixing instructions, which is the cause of most paint problems.

You painted your car yourself Gunner01? I'm very interested in your paint process.
My '95 XJS convertible looks like hell and needs a complete redo. 6 years of daily commuting in Tampa have ruined the paint and the inside. I will be doing my own wood and leather and want to be my own painter.

Great job, the car looks phenomenal.
Like I've said before, there's something about the XJS that further enhances its appearance from cosmetic improvements better than to most other cars, be it paint or wheels, etc. I'd say it would have to be due to the XJS' striking stance that gives it the edge from just about any angle?
