I would guess LOTS of stinky trans fluid got dragged up the the modular line and some ended up dripping into the ECU vac signal line. Hmmm,,,

No fluid AT ALL should be in that tube. Can't say what troubles MIGHT occur if the the fluid makes it down to the ECU - its in the right-hand foot well near the floor. The vac IS going in the direction of the engine but, if the car goes periods of time without driving what is in the tube might slowly dribble down and make its way to the ECU... I'm thinking there must be some kind of air tight diaphragm in the ecu that detects vac and "turns on" or adjusts the ECU function as vacuum is applied...

Is it possible, without too much pain, to get to the other end of the line in the cabin and either let the engine vac pull that fluid out or,,, blow it out by mouth or compressed air. Ya also may wanna see if the fluid actually made it down that far...

There is a steel kick panel behind the carpet in the foot well, held mostly by gravity and one, maybe two, small bolts. I'm lazy,,, but in this case I think I might take the dive.

I should be clearer. Sorry.

I don't think AIR actually makes it thru that line to effectively pull the residual fluid out of the line and into the intake. I think the vac that is applied to the line (I'm sorry I don't have the language) is a dead stop vac, where vac is applied but there is little if any actual air flow. I don't really think the line will clear itself.

JJJ is correct.

Any fluid, be it oil, etc should be flushed out as best you can, and you will not get it 100%, BUT, the system is able to compensate enough for a small amount of residue.

The ECU vac line is off the balance pipe (the 1" thing across the back on the engine), and I seriously doubt ATF will be in that. Stranger things have happened, so maybe yours be the 1st??

One line at a time, flush them out, and move on I say.

Thanks for correcting my idea that it was the aircon vac source JJJ.
