Default Which other TCM's will work in 95 XJS

Hello all,
I'm a newbie, just got a 95 XJS convertible and it was in "trans safe mode" when I bought it. 3rd gear and nothing else. It was leaking T fluid from the rear and upon close inspection the vent had broken off. I replaced all that, new seals and refurbished the trans mount which was why the trans vent broke off in the first place. So, all that said, disconnected battery hoping to reset limp mode and no luck. Got an OBD scanner and got P1777 code. Also found the TSB about the early TCMs causing this fault and checked the manufacture date (on the TCM0 and it is 12/94 (same as the car BTW). So, my question is.... which other TCM units will fit? Can I use one from an XJ6? or does it HAVE to be the 2400AH 001? Thanks in advance, any help is greatly appreciated! I love this car and Jags in general!
P.S. Sorry for the terribly wordy post, but I figured the more info the better!

Yup!

But they're probably like me and don't have a solid answer for you.

Similar topics have come up and nobody is really certain if the sub-variations in TCMs are significantly different...or insignificantly different. You might be the trailblazer here

Thanks Doug,
I just ordered (used from a breaker) another unit with a slightly different number and a later build date.
I'll keep everyone posted as to my progress

Well, It's fixed! I guess I answered my own question. I got another TSB from a salvage yard. The only difference between the new one and the old one is a newer build date and the replacement came from an XJ6. AE designation is the same, 004 instead of 001. Shifts like a dream. Maybe I just got lucky, but the research was worth it! I learned alot about this breed! Lookin forward to more adventures!

Thanks for the information!!

There is not a lot of information for 95-96 owners out there and this is huge help.

I know that I have always felt that my transmission , intermittently will start shifting a little differently. Maybe this is the reason why!
