P1775 and P0727

1996 Jaguar XJS s/n 226408 - Car is registering P1775 and P0727. Trans light and check engine light came on, so I checked the CPS for connection issues, and the trans light went off by itself. I reset the check engine light and only P1775 code resets. More information - speedometer works, car will stall when being put in gear until the trans warms up. I cleaned and resealed the trans switch last year (on the side of the trans, linked to the shifter cable). The cable may need to be adjusted, as the trans sometimes does not go into reverse from drive - jiggling the shifter gets it to work.
