Default Part name/# for rear shock to hub link?

Well title is pretty self explanatory. Keep finding diagrams that don't include this part. The bar that runs from the hub to the rear shock of the rear suspension.

Found it:
"Tie down bracket"
CAC2416

Is that all its really there for? Can you just put the nut on the shock with a washer and not even use this piece?

YES.

Less weight, more speed.

None of the Series cars, or PreHE had them. Maybe some obscure market ??????? required them for safety reasons, now who could that be?????
