Passenger Door Window

If you have a 12V electrical source (if not I would suggest buying one since you have a Jag) take the door panel off and inspect the rails the glass slides up and down on. Then disconnect the motor and hook the leads up to the 12V and see if it goes up and down, is binding or no motor sounds... You should be able to isolate the problem pretty quickly.

did not spell out ! disconnect the motor by unplugging the two wires to the motor and place your 12v source to the motor, it should go up or down. reverse the wires and it should go the other way. if you hear the motor sound but no movement, you may have a stuck gear or a binding window. let me know what you find and we can discuss the next move which would be to adjust the window rails or remove the window motor and mechanism from the door. I had the same issue with my drivers side RHS window. pulled the door card off. The window tracks fine. I had 12v at the motor. so I gave the motor a smack and away it went. So put it back together, worked for a little while, Then i found I had to slam the door whilst holding the switch down to get it to work.. This gets awkward on the freeway (esp with the Handbrake - sorry I mean wife in the car). I'm really gonna have to fix it proper so Im watching with interest. good luck!
