Default pix while fixing oil leaks, guess its a jaguar thing.

engine with manifolds and covers off,

good pic of custom vac advance, fully adjustable for Hg #s, and degree amount, - Allen wench, thru the hose nipple.

2 Euro inlet mani, without air injection holes, heads are blocked also, US versions.

3 race cams, you can see the wide nose(compared to stock), cams open and close valve faster ,and hold open longer, lift .410 thou.
best is nitridding is still like new, no wear atall, cam followers show i could have gone to much more lift, without hurting durability, been16yrs about.
4 shows ported ports, and 5 is stamped PD, machine shop that did the head work, that i used the machinery myself, i dont feel comfortable with any one else doing my work, its a personal thing!!

6 just some color to sharpen things up, plug wires.

Do the cams make much difference on the low end power? I considered them but read somewhere they don't really help until you hit 100mph+ so decided I didn't want to mess with it right now if the gains were only marginal at best.

quite simple jamey, most peformance cams are for more hi-rpm power, so to make use of them ,you should lower the final drive gear ratio. (hi numbers, mine 3.73 ratio),and in overdrive i end up with 2.60 ratio, better than 2.88.

that way you dont lose any low end acceleration(actually more accel.) and still can make top end speeds, MPG rarely better tho.

a properly done performance car, is a system of multiple mods, that compliment each mod!

speaking of low end torque, pic says it all.

and performance cams make a unique sound, that a motorhead would appreciate.

I had already considered lowering the rear end to 3.73's. Once I get all the odds and ends sorted I figured I'd start searching for a set.
