Hi so i have an 87 Jaguar xjs i bout about a year ago and it has a hole in one of the hoses. I want to replace it but don't know what it does or what its called. Please help. (Not my photo or my car, just the best i could find)
Baxtor is right, of course, but it's commonly known as the Auxiliary Air Valve....or "AAV".
The Extra Air Valve-- EAV-- fits into the back side of the RH air filter housing. Although, actually, I think there might be an alternate name for that one as well!

A rose by any other name is still a rose hey, but Jaguar do call it extra air valve and the solonoiod valve on RH air cleaner is called supplimentary air valve.
