Default Power Door locks

91 XJS V12 convertible classic collection. I live on Cape Cod, and weather has been extremely cold. I unlocked my drivers side door yesterday, upon doing so, both door locks went spastic for several seconds, and now neither have power, only lock manually, trunk lock included. Question: Did I blow a fuse, and where is it located to check?

I have the same car as you, 91 conv. 12cyl with the problem. I don't think the weather is a factor though, I'm in Florida and my locks will go crazy sometimes in 80F degrees & I don't use or have a fob I'm thinking relay but didn't even address this problem yet.

Any idea where the fuse is located? There's a panel on each side?

I've had this issue occasionally, usually I've somehow resolved it by jamming a electrical connection spray-can nozzel into the key hole and giving it a good cleaning, and following up with WD40. Gotta get the little plastic straw nozzel right in there. Might work...it might not, 30+ year old british electrical systems are a toss up either way.

The controller is not designed for rapid actuations. Therefore if there have been unintended rapid actuations either due to a fault or by the operator, it may have to be de powered (disconnect battery or unplug the controller for 15 min). On my car, 1995 convert, it is in the rear lights access area, small black box/module. That may reset it to work again. On your 91, not sure where it is. If you found where the fuse is, you could just pull it to de power it as as well.

The fuse is located in the main fuse box, # 8 below the driver side fascia panel. brown 7.5 amp controls door locks& mirrors.
