Default Is this the power steering fluid cap?

Sorry for a remedial question: is this the power steering fluid cap on my '84 XJS? I've just inherited this car and am obviously learning the basics, and enjoying the learning so far. I can't find a good fluid-location diagram online, it's not in the manual, and the cap isn't labeled.
I have some smoke that seems to be coming off the cat, and a fluid leak. Others on this forum seem to think it's a power steering fluid leak. I did take a look, and this thing is indeed bone dry, so it would confirm suspicions. Before I add anything, can someone please confirm this is the power steering? If so, are there common leak sources? It was topped-off when I had an oil change, 500 miles ago, so a pretty fast leak. Also there's a new groan when I turn the wheel. Dexron II or III have been recommended - particular brands recommended or whatever AutoZone has?

Thanks a lot in advance for the help.

All the hoses perish and leak in the end... Just replace the lot. There is a total of 3 hoses. 2 have some steel piping and rubber sections... One is just pure rubber.

Dex II or III is fine

Common leaks are the hoses and the steering rack itself. Often both the hose AND the rack.
