pozidrive screwdriders
When I was doing research for the new XJS I came across a thread that mentioned pozidrive screwdrivers and that a lot of older jags used those instead of phillips. Now I can't find that thread for the life of me. I was checking out a lot of different things back then and can't remember if my '89 would have a lot of pozidrive screws instead of phillips. If so, I'll definitely invest in a set of drivers. Anybody know for sure?
Yes I would say so. Most of the screws in my car are either Pozidrive or Torx. Pozidrive allows a better connection and lessens the chance of stripping the head.
You can get a 3 pack of Pozidrive bits Pz1-3 at most good hardware places.
Cheers,
Allan

I have a 96 and every original screw that looks like a Philips head, is indeed pozidrive.
I would invest in a set of pozidrive heads and Torx heads, make sure your set includes the T27.

I purchased a set on amazon as Home Depot and lowes didn't sell them. I purchased a set of 4 Gearwrench 80061 ~$20, these are nice cause they have a flat on the shank were you can put a wrench on it to provide more torque. This set includes PZ0, PZ1, PZ2, and PZ3 size. There are 5 pozidrive sizes, the PZ4 size is really big and i purchased an insert as this is used on the v12 motor. You will mostly use the PZ2 size. These really help with preventing rounded off screws.
